Strawberry Fields Forever!

I have been wanting to take Nicolas to the pick your own strawberry fields for awhile and Mothers Day weekend was just the perfect time.  Strawberries are definitely his fruit of choice and he could hardly contain himself when he saw the fields of be-ies as he calls them, the rr's are too hard to say just yet.  We started out of a tractor ride through the farm, which was a big hit, strawberries and tractors at the same place, oh my!  It was a beautiful day for picking and tasting be-ies and getting messy.  Daddy managed to get a few good pictures even though the little guy did not want to pose - he was too interested in eating!

Rows and rows of berries in the middle of the city, these were truly the best berries I have ever had
My little gatherer, he did not want to forget any!

Had to have one in each hand, this reminds of my cousin Elizabeth when she was this age

After a hard day a berry picking some much needed juice!

San Diego Zoo

These pictures were taken about a month at the and half ago at the San Diego Zoo but I have been lazy about posting them.  Nicolas did not want to touch any of the animals at the petting zoo he only wanted to get close enough to point them out.  I think he liked the elephants the most, probably because they are big enough to really see and of course he liked chasing the tour buses.   Then there is the ice cream that he was allowed to eat by himself for the first time( Eric wanted no part of this) but you gotta let them get a little messy!

Nicolas loved the little jeep they had in the kids area.

Stop taking pictures Mom!
Really I get to do this all by myself!
And this is what happens when I do it all by myself!

Easter Egg Hunts

Saturday morning we took Nicolas to his first Easter Egg Hunt, you'd think that he had done it a thousand times because he instantly caught on. Pick up the egg - put it in the basket until its overflowing!  He's into the hoarding stage right now.  It was so much fun to watch him run around gather eggs, he was even chatting with them.  In fact it was so much fun that we decided to let him do it again this morning in our front yard.  Here are a few pics of the fun!

Nicolas checking out his loot once we were away from all the other munchkins!  For those of you in Texas he is not sitting in a field of dog poo, the ground is airated so that the grass will grow back!
He even lined up his candy after he got it out of the eggs.
Eric had to distract him and put some of the eggs back, he had way too many.
Here he is having a conversation with the eggs in the bushes.
This was the first egg he found, it was all over after that!

Nicolas chillin' in his car that Grandma and PaPa gave him.

Not sure what I did to deserve that look!
We bought season passes to the local aquarium and took Nana while she was here.  He sure loves the fishies!
